What can this free photo editor do?
This editor works like a lightweight version of desktop image software. You can open one or several photos, each becoming its own layer, then retouch, combine and export them without installing anything. Everything runs inside your browser using the HTML canvas, so files are not uploaded to a server.
Main features
- Layers: add, duplicate, delete, reorder, hide, rename (double-click) and merge layers, with per-layer opacity and 16 blend modes such as Multiply, Screen and Overlay.
- Painting tools: soft or hard brush, eraser, paint bucket with tolerance, gradient, eyedropper, text, rectangle, ellipse and line.
- Selections: rectangular marquee that limits painting and filters, plus crop to selection.
- Adjustments: brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur, grayscale, sepia and invert with live preview before you apply them.
- Filters and transforms: sharpen, emboss, edge detect, pixelate, noise, vignette, flip, rotate, canvas size and image resize.
- Export: save as PNG (transparency), JPG or WebP with adjustable quality.
How to edit a photo
- Press Open image or drop a photo onto the canvas.
- Pick a tool on the left and set size, hardness and opacity on the right.
- Work on separate layers so you can undo and adjust later; use Undo for up to 30 steps.
- Apply adjustments or filters, then press Export.
Good to know
Very large images (above roughly 6,000 pixels on a side) can be slow on phones. The adjustment sliders rely on the browser canvas filter feature, which works in current Chrome, Edge and Firefox; some Safari versions may ignore them. Editing is not saved automatically, so export your result before closing the tab. For a presentation background or CV photo, see our presentation templates and CV builder.
